Photographer and revolutionary activist, friend and interlocutor of painters such as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, but also model and actress in Hollywood, the exceptional human, artistic and political trajectory of Tina Modotti (1896 - 1942) made her one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. The exhibition Tina Modotti: photography, freedom and revolution is the result of the collaboration with Cinemazero and reconstructs, through some forty photographs, videos and other documents, the artist's journey, as well as her formal and political research, whose originality has left a profound trace in the history of photography in the first part of the 20th century. The exhibition is divided into four sections which, alongside the best-known works (still lifes, portraits of Mexican peasants, portraits of the photographer), present more intimate snapshots dedicated to women and children.
