200LUX EXPO:
PhotoSaintGermain presents the work of Tshepiso Mazibuko and Sibusiso Bheka looking back on thirty years of democracy in South Africa. These two photographers belong to the so-called “born free” generation—a term referring to the Black generation born after the first non-racial democratic elections in 1994, who never lived under apartheid. They symbolize the promise of a free and more egalitarian South Africa, a promise they challenge through their photographic practice.
