Hôtel la Louisiane - 3e étage
60 rue de Seine 75006
Within the walls of La Louisiane, time holds the imprint of passing bodies and the memory of creative sleepless nights. From Beat Generation manuscripts to Miles Davis solos, this hotel on rue de Seine has long been a refuge for rebellious spirits. This year, for Photo Saint-Germain, nine rooms open their doors to fictions of the shadows, in an exhibition curated by Martha Kirszenbaum around subcultures. It transforms the hotel into a liberated territory, a poetic refuge where desire, the night and the rejection of norms are in dialogue.

Alongside the festival's 38 exhibitions, a programme of workshops for children, free and open to all by reservation, has been organised in collaboration with the association Les Ateliers Artistiques et Créatifs de l'Image. A chance to discover the diversity of photographic techniques from an early age!
Echoing the exhibitions Denise Colomb, on the Quais de Solférino and Michel Butor, an Ultrasensitive Portrait at the Musée d'Histoire de la Médecine, this workshop focuses on portraiture and poetry.
After taking their own photographic self-portrait with digital cameras and a printer, participants transform their image through collage and writing, using coloured paper and fine Posca pens. Words, sentences, poems and graphic elements enter into dialogue with the photograph to compose a personal and sensitive portrait.
Registration is confirmed subject to availability.

Alongside the festival's 37 exhibitions, a programme of workshops for children, free and open to all by reservation, has been organised in collaboration with the association Les Ateliers Artistiques et Créatifs de l'Image. A chance to discover the diversity of photographic techniques from an early age!
Drawing on black-and-white archive images of Paris from Jean Marquis's exhibition, Jean Marquis, Chronicler of the Everyday, at the Roger-Viollet gallery, and on Karen Knorr's colourful bestiary at the Musée Delacroix, participants will colour the images with Posca pens. They will then imagine a fantastical animal using cut-out and collage techniques, and place it within the scene. They will turn a documentary photograph into an imaginary scene, between heritage and fiction, and in doing so create their own bestiary of Paris.
Combining drawing, collage and colourful experimentation, the workshop explores the meeting of archive and visual poetry.
