In our contemporary society, qualified by the English-Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman as « liquid », human relations have become so volatile that establishing permanent bonds seems mission impossible. Invited by NetGallery, a new platform dedicated to contemporary art, a selection of young artists from three Czech photography schools will explore possibilities of encounter in a society that becomes more and more individualistic. Each one on their own will try to respond to an existential question, shared despite the differences and borders dividing us : how to live together in a world where all past certitudes are falling apart?
Participating schools:
UMPRUM - Studio of Photography of Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague
FAMU - Department of Photography of the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague
Paris Czech Center
Paris Czech Center is a part of international network of Czech Centers. Presenting Czech culture in all of its forms is one of their missions. More than 200 events are held in the building as in other places : exhibitions, concerts, film projections, lectures etc.
