Surréel. Trois petites histoires surréalistes
For the 2024 edition of the Saint Germain Photo Festival, we are proposing a project linked to the exhibition Surréel. Trois petites histoires surréalistes that we present from September to November to commemorate the centenary of the publication of the first Manifesto of Surrealism. It will be organized around three thematic stations: Formes simples, Métamorphoses and Rêves & Cauchemars. We present avant-garde photographs (from the 1930s to the 1950s) in black and white by Man Ray, Carl Struwe, Théodore Brauner, Erwin Blumenfeld, Raoul Ubac, Edmund Kesting, Hans Bellmer, Luigi Veronesi and Vera Molnar.
Galerie Le Minotaure
The Galerie Le Minotaure, created in 2002, is situated Rue des Beaux-Arts, at the former address of the famous bookshop from whom it preserved its name. His founder, Benoit Sapiro, is fascinated by Russian and Central Europe artists of the first half of the 20th century. Benoit Sapiro dedicated himself to helping rediscover the first half of the 20th Century Russian and Central Europe artists for more than twenty years, with a constant and passionated action.
