PRENDRE FORME
Making bread means constantly creating a form. As part of the Regards du Grand Paris national photographic commission – carried out by Ateliers Médicis in cooperation with the Centre National des Arts Plastiques – Clara Prioux documented bread, less as a subject than as a practice. This work initially took the form of an archive, with a documentary register presenting a variety of tones and points of view - reflecting the complexity of the approaches and issues that underlie bread.
Through her practice, Clara Prioux tirelessly explores the ways in which we support our existence and inscribe ourselves in our environment. This work once again reflects her incarnated vision of territory. Gesture is always contained within a given landscape. Once considered a burden, making bread can now be a search for meaning. It's a daily confrontation with a living material, but also with oneself, the outcome of which is a source of pride. In the PRENDRE FORME (TAKE FORM) project, bread-making in the Greater Paris region is depicted in relation to the entire agricultural sector, as well as to a local and human context. For PhotoSaintGermain, a selection of some twenty images is presented at Quai de Solférino. Clara Prioux has chosen to broadly embrace a practice and its issues, without defining its outlines. A true tribute to bread, and above all to all those who seek its forms.
Quai de Solférino
On the Quai de Solférino, you'll also find an extension of the No Woman's Land. An Intimate Look into the Battle for Women's Rights in Afghanistan exhibition, presented at the Réfectoire des Cordeliers and featuring the work of Mélissa Cornet & Kiana Hayeri, laureates of the 14th Carmignac Photojournalism Award.
On the occasion of the release of her Souvenir de la Tourte de Besse book, Clara Prioux has also designed an installation in front of the delpire & co bookshop.
